Types of Committees
As a member of our Chamber of Commerce, you have the opportunity to shape our organization by serving on one or more of our committees. If you're interested in getting involved, please complete the form below
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee welcomes new members and works to enhance membership retention. Responsibilities of committee members include attending new member ribbon cuttings and greeting members at networking events. As Ambassadors of the Chamber, Committee Members shall make it a high priority for themselves to volunteer at major functions of the Chamber. The Membership Committee shall annually explore what benefits and education topics provide the best retention and attraction perks for the Chamber’s membership. The Membership Committee shall meet no less than bi-monthly at a date and time to be established by the Committee Chair.
Programs and Special Events Committee
The Programs and Special Events Committee (Events Committee) plays a critical role in supporting the Chamber staff in crafting the Chamber’s programs and events. Committee Members evaluate and review the Chamber’s activities from years past and make recommendations to the Board of Directors for annual events and future events. Committee Members are very hands on and work out the finer details of all the Chamber’s annual events. Committee Members shall make it a high priority for themselves to volunteer at major functions of the Chamber. The Events Committee shall meet no less than monthly at a date and time to be established by the Committee Chair.
Economic Development Committee
The Economic Development Committee is the business advocacy branch of the Chamber and champions of the Chamber’s Objectives, as outlined in the Bylaws. Committee Members monitor government activities at the local, state, and national levels that relate to Business Members. They meet with City and State officials to review current and future actions being considered by government entities. The Committee’s goal is to maintain a dialogue with the City and State about matters that are important to the Chamber and its Business Members. The Economic Development Committee may draft articles and documents as well as make recommendations to the Board of Directors for actions on items that will affect the Chamber’s Business Members. The Economic Development Committee shall meet no less than bi-monthly at a date and time to be established by the Committee Chair.
